Money, money, money

Posted: March 7, 2013 in Uncategorized

Hi there,

In  1º ESO we are going to start the unit related to money. As it seems to me that the students are already familiar with the vocabulary included in their book, I  decided to elaborate on it a bit. I have found this website that provides vocabuary related to money. It uses some pictures and students can also listen to the pronunciation of the words, it has A-Z build up – money terms and some colloquilal expressions like ´short of money´ etc. At the end ss can do some online activities like crossword, jumble words, word search and matching activitties to check their knowledge.

I hope you like it.

Poems and Songs in German!

Posted: March 7, 2013 in Uncategorized

Hi everyone,

1st grade students get one German lessons per week and this week we are working basic contents like colors, numbers, family, speak about themselves or body parts. To finish the units our students are learning songs or short poems about the contents. So in this unit we are learning the poem: Eins – zwei – Polizei

Activity Development:
1st step: Students learn the poem from the whiteboard. Teacher recites and students repeat
2nd step: Students get a worksheet where they have the poem and some explanatory pictures. There they trace the letters and color pictures.
3rd step: The students work in pairs to study the poem. They read the poem to each other. On this day they take the poem at home.
4th step: Students recite the poem individually.
5th step: We learn a short choreography and show to the classmates what we learned.

Here you have some pictures about the activity! We had great fun!
