Chinese at CAS!

Posted: April 30, 2013 in Uncategorized

Last Friday 19th of April our school was invited to participate in the official inaguration of the Confucio College. It was really amazing sharing with another schools like Arenas School in Las Palmas or the European School Daos. This event took place in the Paraninfo of Las Palmas and our classmates Maurizio Perreti and Aroa Ferrer were the responsible for our school´s speech. It was really beautiful the dance the group of 3rd ESO Sergio, Cloe, Victoria, Raquel, Olivia, Lauren, Erika, Sabela, Rui and Zaida  prepared for this.

We enjoyed a lot the Opera Beijing display, it was a wonderful performance full of music and light. We hope we can participate in anyother events like this, so we can share culture and traditions.

Revising Conditionals!

Posted: April 30, 2013 in Uncategorized
This week I´ve introduced the third conditional in 2º ESO.
Unit 9 also contains vocabulary related to history (events, discoveries and inventions, periods of time). I´ve decided to combine these two issues to practise both conditionals and the vocabulary of the unit. I have found an interesting idea on a TEFL resources website. I´m going to choose an event in history and collect some information about it. The website gives an idea of Titanic and I think this could be a nice start.Ss are going to give their ideas for example  ´What would have happened if there had been more lifeboats? or What would have happened if Mr Bean had been on the Titanic?

Here is a website suitable for 4ºEP

http://kids.britannica.com/comptons/article-203971/living-things.

The Britannica website has a lot of information about the essential processes that all living things do. It also has a detailed account about the classification of living things. Next week 4ºEP have an exam on this topic and the website would be good complementary reading.

Hope you find it useful!

Every picture tells a story

Hi everyone 😉
This week the class of 3 ESO has presented their work about: “every picture tells a story”. Each group had to choose or draw a picture related to poverty. They described it in class and explained what the author meant to say and the symbols used.
I send some photos so with the students’s work and their presentations in class. Enjoy!!
