Talking about Leisure!

Posted: September 27, 2013 in ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASSROOM

Hello, everyone!!!!

This is 4th grade. This Friday, 27th, we had the presentation of one of the extra-activities we can do after school: Multi-sport! We spent a session playing different and new games, in our playground and the new football pitch. We had a very good time and most of us liked and enjoyed what we did. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of any of the games we played, but we promise to take some for the next activities we do.

This is all by now. We wish you all a very nice weekend!!!

To revise social expressions like “Bitte” and “Danke”, giving basic orders like “Gib mir bitte…”, “Nimm bitte…” and express likes and dislikes, we organized a breakfastdid with the students in Bachillerato this week. Every student brought something to eat or to drink to the classroom. Before we start eating the students had to name all the food items on the table. We classify the food and drinks (junk food / healthy food). Then the students changed the food asking for something and giving instructions. At the end we ate all. The students behaved themselves really good and used the session to speak and to use the language without hesitation. They helped each other and learned in an easy way. A funny way to study German!

3rd ESO Presentations!

Posted: September 27, 2013 in Uncategorized

This week 3rd ESO did group presentations. Their task was to imagine they were filthy rich, with amazing gardens, pools and houses. They could have chefs and servants to make them feel pampered. They had to make lists of all the chores that had to be done. They used the Causative Have structure (I would have my meals cooked for me by the chefs) to present their ideas in groups.

They came up with some amazingly luxurious ideas in order to live a very rich life !!! Some of them had elephants in the gardens and others had personal spas-all for themselves!!!

Well done 3 ESO!!!

Preparing Avocado Seeds

Posted: September 25, 2013 in SCIENCE

Hi everyone,
Here are some pictures of 3ºEP A preparing their avocado seeds. We are propagating the seeds now so that they will be ready to plant on Tree Day in November. We used two cocktail sticks to balance the seeds on the rim of a glass jar. The seeds sit in water, mimicking the process in nature. After two weeks the seeds should split open and begin growing a root. We will then mix some soil into the water so that the roots can begin to absorbing the nutrients, becoming more accustomed to growth in the ground. All 3ºEP behaved very responsibly whilst preparing the experiment and enjoyed themselves immensely!

Types of Sentences

Hello again,
This week we’ve been working on different types of sentences as another content seen last year. It’s quite easy for the SS due to its similarity with the Spanish grammar. First, I write the same sentence with different punctuation on the board. Students must guess what the different between them is. They can provide a few more examples. Then they watch this fun video to learn about it.

Subject or Object Pronouns?

Hi everyone,
This week my students are still in the initial evaluation so they are working on contents seen last year. The link below may help them to identify the possessive adjectives they already know. However, 5th graders still mix them up with the subject and object pronouns.
After the students have watched the video they carry out some activities to reinforce the meaning and use of possessive adjectives.
Hope you find it useful!

Hi everyone,

Back to school again and our 3rd grade students have come with lots of energy. They have revised different topics during these days, as for example “jobs”. So, here you are an interesting link to revise jobs by means of listening to a story and a game to practice related vocabulary.

Good beginning of the academic year!
