Canary Islands Day

Posted: May 31, 2012 in Uncategorized

Hi everybody,

This week our community and our school have celebrated the day of the Canary Islands. For this reason, our school has planned different activities related to our customs and traditions. Students have created their own bracelets with the colors of the Canary flag, they have danced and students have also sung popular songs of our community. Finally, they played Canary games and they ate our traditional food.

Here you have some pictures of our great celebration!

Hi everyone,

Here are some pics from our beach visit on Tuesday with El Huerto Club. We had a lovely time learning about the beach ecosystem. We did some rock pooling and the kids learnt all about the crabs, limpets, sea snails and sea weed. They learnt lots of new vocabulary and had fun doing it! Then we went for a much deserved swim:)

Our primary and secondary students had to do external exams in German and English last week. These exams are done by Cambridge ESOL and Goethe Institute and they are a great opportunity for our students to get a certificate that shows their level of German and English and it is recognized in Europe.  Moreover, this year they had the opportunity of taking the exam in the school and computer based. Although they were a bit nervous, they did quite well and now it’s time to wait for the results. Good luck to everyone and well done!

Learning from others!

Posted: May 27, 2012 in Uncategorized

Hi everybody,

Last week, two students from secondary education gave a talk in front of 4th grade students about energy and different aspects we must take into account to use it efficiently. Students learnt about alternative energy, as solar or wind energy, and they also learnt how to save energy using it in an efficient way. Our students were very interested in the topic since, they are working and learning about types of energies during this term. So, they took an active part in the talk and they asked a lot of questions!

Here you have, some pictures of the presentation!
